The FHL Is Dissolved

Posted in Fantasy Hockey, NHL with tags , on September 15, 2008 by jayngo26

The FHL or Fantastical Hockey League is, as of now, dissolved. It turned out, that on last Saturday, when our Fantasy Hockey Draft was about to take place, Yahoo sent us an email saying you needed at least four teams to start it up! It was just myself and 4th Floor Reject that were going to participate and that was the way we really wanted it. It was very disappointing to find out you needed at least four people to start up a league. All the time I put into my pre-draft pics was all for not. So, while I really wanted to start up with fantasy hockey this year, I guess we might give it a shot next year. Hey Yahoo- why not allow 2 team leagues??? Sheesh.

The Fantastical Hockey League or (FHL)

4th Floor Reject and I formed our fantasy hockey league tonight. It is called the Fantastical Hockey League, or the FHL. My team name is Jayngo’s Ice Wolves. Our draft is scheduled for this Saturday afternoon. I have a pre-draft list made up. I thought about going with all the top fantasy players that were projected on the site, but then I realized that I want to pick players that I enjoy and want to follow throughout the season. Thus, Sidney Crosby and his buddy Malkin are not on my list. The Golden Boy just doesn’t do it for me. Plus, I think Malkin is WAY overrated. Anyway, I will see how this all goes down for my first shot at fantasy hockey.

I have added two new RSS feeds. In preparation for the upcoming NHL season, I have added feeds to CBC Hockey News and Coach’s Corner. If you have grown up in the mid-west like me, then chances are you have watched some broadcasts of Hockey Night In Canada and Don Cherry’s Coaches Corner. Both are top quality programs if you are a hockey aficionado. Check out the feeds on my sidebar.
