Fighters Guild Conquered

Today, I finished the Fighters Guild questline in Oblivion. As I have come to realize, the last mission was very good. Just like the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood ending missions. So, now all I have left to do is the Mages Guild and then the Shivering Isles. To think, it has been over a year since I started Oblivion. What a great game!

Thieves Guild Completed

Today I completed the Thieves Guild side quest. I really enjoyed it overall. The last few missions were really good and the story gets very intriguing towards the end. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I really enjoyed the last mission. It was very lengthy but very rewarding. I don’t want to ruin it for any who have not completed the Thieves Guild yet. But, let’s just say the item you obtain when it’s all said and done is really worth it. I wish I would have obtained the item many, many hours ago. Although, I guess I paid my dues. But, at 165 hours in, it is definitely a welcome gift. I highly recommend anyone who has not started the Thieves Guild in Oblivion, get on to it now!

A Great Elder Scrolls Site

I have added the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages website to my sidebar. This fan based site has it all. If you have a question to anything in the Elder Scrolls world, this site probably has your answer. Definitely worth taking a look at!

CHAMPION OF CYRODIIL!!!!

That’s right! Last night I let you know that I closed the Great Gate, but tonight I am letting you know that I conquered Oblivion! Well, the main questline at least. But, I was really getting tired of all those Oblivion gates popping up all over the place and making me have to change my routes. So, after 147 hours I completed the main quest. I have to admit, I really thought the ending was awesome. I don’t want to give anything away, but if you haven’t completed the main story and you are playing Oblivion, you have to progress to that point. I have completed many, many, many side quests already, including the entire Dark Brotherhood story arch (which in my opinion is the best side-questing in RPG history.) The point is, I still have much more to do in the world of Cryodiil. I have barely even touched the Shivering Isles. Still need to finish up Thieves Guild, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild and finish off some Daedric quests. Plus, lot’s of other smaller quests. This may be my favorite game of all time. And I am a FPS guy. Wow. Simply said-WOW.

The Great Gate Is Closed

If you have not beaten the Elder Scrolls:Oblivion yet, then you may not want to read on. There is your disclaimer. For all others, tonight I entered the Great Gate and removed the Sigil Stone, thus destroying the gate and the siege crawler with one fell blow. For the past months I had been planning on taking all the helpers I had accrued throughout the course of my questing and having them follow me to this great battle outside of Bruma. Alas, all I took with me was a Storm Atrinoch from the Frostcrag Spire and the Castellan from Battlehorn Manor. Being that I was already level 35 and so very powerful, this quest was little more than a stain in a highway. I was surprised with all the help the Bruma guards lended during the battle. And, once I actually entered the Great Gate, I somehow had no problem finding my way to the guard tower, flipping the switch that opened the gate to the final tower and then collecting the Sigil Stone. I didn’t even use a walkthrough. Needless to say, the 50 point achievement I received for closing the gate really made me feel good. Next up-Paradise!

Thought I would add the official website for the Elder Scrolls franchise. This is a great site. Not only is it’s coverage of Oblivion and both expansion packs excellent, the history of the games that preceded are listed, with a time line and nice descriptions of the games themselves. Check the sidebar to be transported to Tamriel!

Knights of the Nine Completed

Posted in Technology/Cool Stuff, Video Games, Xbox 360 with tags , on September 2, 2008 by jayngo26

Recently I have gotten back into the Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. I had played the game furiously when I got my 360 toward the end of last year. I have completed many quests including the entire Dark Brotherhood quest line. I have even visited the Shivering Isles and completed a few quests in that mad world. But I had never started the Knights of the Nine (KOTN). I must admit, part of it was knowing that I would receive absolutely no achievements for beating this very good sized side quest. I love achievements, but sometimes they make me do things that I would normally not do. Like avoiding really good quests like KOTN. Anyways, I completed it in probably around six or seven hours. And without giving too much away for those who have not experienced it yet, I must say, it was very satisfying. Don’t let the no achievement problem stop you from completing KOTN. The storyline is great, the ending is excellent, the new enemies are cool, and some of the best armor, weapons, and equipment can be found in KOTN. Even if you have already beat the main storyline and most of the other side quests and you are almost all-powerful, just obtaining the awesome armor from this quest is well worth it.

You WILL be impressed with yourself and how you look after you complete KOTN.
